Brum BiFest: Code of Conduct
Guidelines
We're expecting BiFest to be a busy, vibrant and exciting event. To help make it safer and more enjoyable for everyone we ask that people follow these guidelines.
Respecting fellow attenders
Boundaries and personal space
- Please don't invade people's personal space unless you are invited to. A useful phrase is 'Would you like a hug?'
- No means no: if someone asks you to leave them alone, please do so immediately.
- No one at BiFest should be put under any pressure to join in with anything they don't want to.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- Please be aware that many people may not wish their attendance at a bi event to be public knowledge and please bear this in mind when discussing Brum BiFest afterwards.
- If you take photographs please ensure you have the consent of everyone within the frame (including people in the background). Additional consent should be sought before publishing photos in any way including uploading them to the Internet.
What you can do if anything comes up
- If you're getting unwanted attention from someone, you can tell the desk, and we will politely tell them to stop. We're happy to do so even if you haven't communicated this to them, since that's not always easy to do.
- If you have any problems, questions or comments, or notice anything that concerns you, talk to the volunteers at the desk or one of the organisers.
- There is also an organisers' postbox which you can put a note in about anything concerning you - this will be checked regularly throughout the day.
While we expect and hope not to have to, should we find it necessary, we may ask a BiFest attender to leave for the safety or wellbeing of others. The organisers' decision is final and no refund will be offered.
